GPSC is gearing up for the launch of the fourth annual GPSC Young Social Innovator, where young innovators from across the country are encouraged to submit their innovative projects from now to 31 August 2021 for a chance to win the H.R.H Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s Trophy and scholarships worth over 1 million baht.
Mr. Worawat Pitayasiri, President and Chief Executive Officer of Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited or GPSC, the innovative power flagship of PTT Group, revealed that the GPSC Young Social Innovator (YSI) 2021, held for the fourth consecutive year, would be under the concept of “Sustainable Energy, Natural Resource and Environment” and the prizes include the H.R.H Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s Trophy as well as scholarships worth more than 1 million baht.
The competition is open for upper secondary and vocational students or equivalent from all over Thailand who can submit their projects under one of the following categories 1. Product using effective materials or packaging ideas that enhance consumers’ ease of use 2. Invention, which can be a model, a piece of equipment, or a machine that increases efficiency, reduces cost, and saves time and 3. Process and Service that improves productivity, optimizes production or processing, and creates added value. Selected submissions will be awarded supporting funds for further project development. Additional expert guidance and advice will also be provided to each team to prepare for the final round of selection.
This year’s YSI competition is carried out as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility or CSR policy that is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals or Global Goals that aim to benefit society. It also provides an opportunity for young Thai generations to create energy innovation and use their creativity and body of knowledge in different fields to build a useful invention, develop a convenient product or process that can help solve social, economic, environmental, and natural resources problems. Practical ideas and inventions will be applied in problem areas and may be further developed for commercial purposes, which will encourage a new generation of innovators to build a solid understanding of efficient use of resources and environmental friendliness.
