Dr.Toemchai Bunnag, President of Global Power Synergy Plc (GPSC), a power and utility flagship of PTT group, said four solar farm projects of its subsidiary, Combined Heat and Power Producing Col, Ltd. (CHPP), were qualified to join a lucky draw held by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) on April 21 to grant licenses to develop solar farms under the project for Agricultural Cooperatives to develop solar farms.
Of the total, CHPP wins a lucky draw for one project to be granted a license to run a solar farm with the Chantaburi’s shrimp farmer Cooperative with the power generating capacity of 5 megawatts. The company expects to get loans from domestic financial institutes to fund the project.
The ERC is due to announce an official license granting on April 26 and the company is expected to start the project immediately after the announcement since it has already had a selective construction company with expertise to design and construct the project. As a result, the company is confident to complete the project and start a commercial operation date within the deadline given by the ERC.
Currenty, GPSC has total current generating capacity according to the Equity MW in the solar farm project of 52.6 megawatts. The latest license granted by the ERC makes GPSC’s capacity to rise to 57.6 megawatts.
