GPSC is conducting a feasibility study to invest in solar power business, planning to install solar panels on the roofs of PTT petrol station in Cambodia with comprehensive services. Its subsidiary, CHPP, has signed a MOU with PTTCL to study together the plan to install solar panels in PTT station for revenues supporting in the future.
Dr. Toemchai Bunnag, Chief Executive Officer of Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited (GPSC), an electricity and utility producer flagship of PTT group said today (July 8, 2016) that the Combined Heat and Power Producing Company Limited or CHPP, which is 100% owned by GPSC, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with PTT (Combodia) Limited or PTTCL, which runs petrol stations business in Cambodia, to conduct a feasibility study of power generating from solar rooftops on the stations.
According to the study, the two companies plan to install solar panels on the rooftops of the PTT petrol stations with integrated maintenance services with appropriated power generating capacity (megawatts) of each solar panel to match each of all 26 petrol stations of PTTCL. That includes a plan to increase the number of PTTCL’s petrol stations in the futures.
“This MOU signing with PTTCL aims to seek ways to develop a solar power system on the rooftops of the petrol stations in order to reduce the cost of energy for PTTCL and support our revenues. It is also the project which brings an eco-friendly renewable energy into PTT petrol stations that align with the philosophy of PTT and its subsidiaries to focus on environmental conservation as our priority.” Dr. Toemchai said.
